A bit of history: The Disney folks realized they needed another destination for their guests to visit other than theme parks so, the Walt Disney World Village opened in 1975, and provided Disney-style shops and eateries for the masses.
Then along came April 1989 and everyone needed a place to dance to the mega-hits of the day! Oh, what to do, what to do? Pleasure Island was that answer with a plethora of nightclubs for every musical taste! Then in 2008, Disney closed all six of its nightclubs and planned an “re-imagination” of Pleasure Island.
Today, you’ll find some dining and shopping locations. You’ll also see a lot of empty buildings and unused space. Look for future developments for this area. I’ll be sure to keep you posted. For now, visit the Pleasure Island Details below to see all the current Pleasure Island fun:
